Robyn was born in Charters Towers and has lived here all her life. Her husband Wally, came to Charters Towers in 1985 as the Sergeant in Charge of the Mid West Prosecution Section and after meeting Robyn, he decided to stay.
Wally and Robyn owned a retail business in town until Wally returned to the police force in 2004, then “retired” in 2014.
Not ones to sit idle for long, Wally and Robyn opened Catch ‘n’ Cook with their son Matt, a few years later. Their fish and chips have proven popular and Matt has since moved to Townsville to open a sister store - Catch ‘n’ Cook Seafood & Burger Bar Crestbook. So if you’re ever looking for fish and chips in the Mount Louisa area, be sure to stop in and see Matt and Gaby at 596 Bayswater Road.
Both Catch ‘n’ Cook stores have been nominated as regional finalists in North Queensland’s Best First & Chips competition 2020.
